What is a Panwere?
Panweres are shapeshifters with an extremely rare form of lycanthropy. This strain of lycanthropy allows the infected lycanthrope, to gain one or more distinct flavors of beast. In some cases, there have been documented reports of Panweres having more than two. Panweres who have a high number of different forms to take, are often classified in having mental problems; this is not always the case, as the stronger-willed the person is, the more mentally improved they will be in gaining more forms. A human being who is attacked by another lycanthrope and infected, and is then infected for a second time before the first full moon, has the potential to develop this rare mutated strain. If two or more attacks occur in the period before the arrival of the first full moon, the infections may become solid, and thus, forming a Panwere.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Panweres can be seen as a bit faster and stronger than regular lycanthropes, enabled to bench press small trucks to even the potential of lifting a small utility vehicle. They heal exceptionally past, like any shapeshifter, and have the same weakness to any silver exposure. The Panwere, once controlling of their beast(s) is capable to choose which beast to change into. Like all shapeshifters, the full moon is a necessity for them to change, and it must occur. Panweres can choose which animal to use during a full moon, and can even go from one shift to another, if powerful enough.
If a Panwere infects another, whatever beast they are "equipped" the moment of attack, is what the individiual will inherit. The Panwere strain is not transferable or contagious, itself, only that of the beast(s) they possess can get passed through the bloodstream upon exposure.
Panwere Guidelines
Panweres in Zombie Road, will be limited in number, and will have 1-2 different shapes to turn into, with the potential of gaining a third while in play. The Panwere can have any kind combination of lycanthropy from the selected list of lycans that are accepted into Blood Square. However, if apparent to your character, to have a strain that is not listed, please specify it in your application, and the staff will review it for approval.
It is possible for a Panwere to have an internal conflict with their beasts, if the beasts do not meld together, and the Panwere has not learned to control them. If the conflict escalates, and the beasts fight and battle beneath the skin, this is a very, very painful experience. Often, this prompts the Panwere to control that in which it possesses; while in other times, one beast may be victor over the other. If this situation ever arises, and one beast has claimed itself the winner over the other, killing off the other -- it becomes the sole entity alone in the Panwere. Often, once this occurs, and the Panwere only has one remaining beast, chances of gaining another, is rare if not possible.
Panweres can often have a difference in power rank between their beasts. One beast can be submissive, while another is dominant.
Panweres are capable of leading a lycan group, specific to their beasts. But they can only be a leader to one. Panweres that become a leader or join any one group specific to their beasts, may find themselves facing prejudice amongst the other lycans for having two beasts at the same time. However, this kind of discrimination can pass in time, and be accepted in the group, depending if the Panwere is a good leader.
-- Panweres have their dominant beast and then their submissive beast. There is always one beast stronger than the other, that the Panwere can control.
-- Panweres can join only one lycan group that goes along with one of the beasts they possess. This rule is applied as well to Panweres becoming a leader to a particular animal group. One Panwere cannot be the leader of two different groups at the same time.
-- In this aspect, Panweres do inherit the powers that are listed for their specific animal type. The exception to this, Panweres cannot inherit any ability that is marked "rare." If/when a Panwere has gained the chance to take a power from their specific beast, please list in the Request a Power form, the Panwere ability you are using to obtain the certain lycan trait, as well as the lycan trait you have chosen.
-- Once a power is chosen, it cannot be removed (unless the player has a reason in mind for wanting to trade one power for another).
Zombie Road, at ths time, will accept two Panweres. Two spots are available.
