WHAT IS AN ANGEL?
; one of a class of spiritual beings; a celestial attendant of God.
Angels are extremely powerful beings who exhibit a magnificent and grand presence. They are capable of unleashing a unique form of justice, as illustrated in certain passages of the Bible, perferably in the Book of Revelation. Angels are categorized in 9 different Choirs. The first Triad consists of the most powerful Angels in the Celestial body: Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones. The second Triad is in the middle consisting of: Dominions, Powers, and Virtues. And the third Triad, the weakest of the Angel hierarchy: Principalties, Archangels, and Angels. The higher the Angel is according to their level of power and might, the harder it is for them to reveal their true nature to the general human population, or any other kind of nature of that matter.
Angels must shield themselves from humans or risk blindness, by causing their eyes to burn right out of their sockets. However, there are a certain type of mortal that are capable of seeing past an Angel's bright and powerful aura. These humans are gifted with the ability to hear an Angel's voice, and see them as they truly are. Angels, in their truest form, are unnaturally beautiful with fair-skin, and large wings with a span that can reach up to 24 feet or more. The presence of an Angel is powerful enough to be of a frequency all on it's own, that it can often disrupt frequencies of human technology. As being in the 1700s, this might be very impossible as electricity has not been invented yet. However, an Angel's true voice, is more than able to shatter glass. Angels also understand and speak all human and demon languages.
Angels have never been human, and are unable to express any kind of human emotion, aside from the lowest ranking "Angel." Angels may even express a kind of confusion toward certain human gestures or expressions. It all depends how long an Angel has been exposed or living amongst the mortals. The lower the Angel is in the Triad, the more they will be able to fully understand how to live and blend amongst the mortal beings. Lower ranking Angels even have the advantage of shielding themselves against shapeshifters and vampires, unlike more powerful Angels who exhibit more energy and radiance.
Angels are more than capable to choose to fall. When an Angel falls, they are denying themselves of their true nature, to take the plummet to the earth below. An Angel falls, denouncing themselves of their heritage to become human. This is an incredibly painful experience and is looked down upon by other Angels. Often enough the disappointment is so supreme, the fallen Angel becomes a victim of discrimination, and is pegged as a fugitive who should be killed on sight.
Angels in a group together are known as a Garrison, and are found mostly with Seraphims or Angels in the First Triad.
THE ANGEL HIERARCHY
(There are 3 Triads that consist of 9 Choirs of Angels. Angels do not rise in Hierarchy unless ordered by a Seraphim. )
SERAPHIM
The Seraphim is the highest order of Angels, in the first Triad. They are often associated in being entities of "pure light." And this association is true on all accounts, as Seraphims in their truest form are so bright, a normal human being is unable to look upon them without the potential of being blinded. These Angels are especially powerful, guarding over the rest of the Angels that thrive underneath the Seraphim.
Seraphims do not often affiliate with humans, although that is not always true. Seraphims exhibit the least touch of emotion amongst the Angels. They may understand the rationality of emotion, but are unable to understand how to fully exhibit it. Seraphims are also known as "speciality" Angels, as they are called upon in certain times of stressful need to smite towns or entire civilizations if/when deemed unworthy. Seraphim are able to cast out any negativity, keeping it away from the divine. The Seraphim are also the only Angels who can completely kill a demon or exorcise a demon back to hell.
THE POWERS
The Powers are located in the Second Triad of the Angel Hierarchy. These Angels are the defenders who will fight and defend families and peoples against any kind of deviant evil. These Angels do not guide humans, nor are they associated with any kind of human charge. Many simply refer to them as Celestial bodyguards, dispensing justice and chaos where it is absolutely called for and necessary. Powers cannot outrightly perform any kind of justice without the order of a Seraphim. Powers are also the type of Angel to come and warn someone if their life is potentially in danger. These Angels are very good at what they do, defending and protecting the wellbeing of others.
ANGELS & ARCHANGELS
Angels and Archangels are located in the Third Triad, the weakest choir of Angels. These Angels, unlike the Seraphim, can easily blend in with the mortal race. Angels and Archangels also have the flexibility to exhibit human emotion and understand how to interpret those human emotions. The Angels in this Triad have the most connection with humans, in offering protection and defense to those they are guarding over. Angels and Archangels do take upon certain individuals as charges to guide them toward a certain purpose or importance. Angels or Archangels, more over, do not readily interfere unless they are asked to do so.
Demons and vampires, depending upon their power and age, not to mention experience, can often miss the presence of an Angel or Archangel. Angels in this Triad most often get their orders from their superiors, the Seraphim.
FALLEN ANGELS
Fallen Angels are the unique brand of Angel that manage to develop emotions and no longer believe in the cause they are fighting over. This form of "denial" or in other words "disobediaence" is extremely frowned upon by other Angels in Celestial body. An Angel falls by ripping out their grace, which is a very painful experience of Angel to endure. It is then, they tumble down to earth as a mortal human, getting the full brash of emotions and everything that goes with humanity.
ANGELIC GUIDELINES
-- Angels are not omnipresent, meaning they do not know everything that is going on or happening. They gain information in the same fashion as everyone else.
-- Seraphims are the only angels that can extinguish or exorcise demons from the human bodies they are possessing. In Zombie Road, you can exorcise a demon without the permission of the player. But if you intend to kill, you must have the permission to do so by the player who is playing the demon. This occurs when the Angel presses their palm to the demon's forehead.
-- Lower level Angels: Angels, Archangels, or Powers can only exorcise a demon back to hell.
-- Angels are immortal and are almost invincible against any force, unless they are a weaker-standard Angel up against a powerful demonic adversary. If the demon is high leveled, it is possible they can overwhelm the Angel.
-- The only way to kill an Angel is by another Angel. Demons can only send an Angel back to Heaven.
-- Seraphims are unable to appear in their true visage to a human, lycan, or vampire, without posing the risk of killing or blinding them. Seraphims can construct a "vessel" to use or are able to possess a human body to act as a shield against their glory.
-- All Angels can have a charge, a human they guide. Not all Angels have to do it, and it is not limited from one Angel rank to the other.
-- Anyone who plays an Angel must play it with precedence, and not in a godly fashion. Angels take a lot of responsibility for the abilities they possess. The same standards do apply when playing an Angel. If an Angel is called into a battle, a logic-based turn is absolutely necessary. Demons who can pack a punch can and will damage an Angel, even if it won't kill them. Angels can and will bleed. If anyone is seen abusing their ability to play an Angel will be warned once to tone down the usage of abilities. If it occurs again, the character will be taken away.
