THE INTRODUCTION
Zombie Road -- what kind of significance does it have? To be honest, it has nothing to do with the storyline. I just liked the name, it was original, and as far as I know it has never been used. It was going to be the original name to Blood Square, but the name wasn't working. I still had the message board already created, and I was determined to use it one way or another. And so I did, hence, Zombie Road has been built, and will serve as the sister site to Blood Square. It will be something like a "prequel" to the storyline, only not leading up to any specific events, more or less, taking a peek into the past of developed characters, exploring their lives in a rather interesting period of time.
Zombie Road is a very haunted location located just west of St. Louis, Missouri. It was once a country road, that has been reduced to a mountain biking trail over the years. Many accidents have occured around this area, including a school bus filled with children who were killed when it was struck by a train. Not to mention, all the witchcraft and worshiping taking place where no other dares to thread, unsettling the area.
This storyline is also a blend of the concepts adopted from the show Supernatural, the angels and demons, and throwing it in with the concept of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series.
Zombie Road will have it's presence in the storyline, minimal at best, as it will be simply a district in the town of Fallencaster, a port-side city that lies tucked in a peaceful location on the Shawmut Peninsula, just south of Boston, Massachusetts. This story begins in the year of 1669, as the beginning of new life has emerged in what will be known as the United States of America, and eventually the new initiating state of New England. The people have begun to live separately from that of the King, branching off to form their own society, their own religions, their own way of embarking on this amazing new feat of freedom.
This is a tentative period of time, the people of this small town, are on their tip-toes to the unnatural occurances befalling their small sect. Fallencaster has become the primary outlet for the strange and unusual, the unexplained, and the fear that the witches and devils are amongst everyone. The townspeople have not witnessed these unexplained phenomenon, but live and thrive on the rumors and stories of others, who have claimed to have seen otherwise. What the townspeople of Fallencaster do not realize, is what truly walks amongst them during the day, and most importantly, at night. And what they don't know, may be the best favor any of the people could ever hope to possess.
For underneath the tranquility -- lies a war unseen by the human eyes.
FOR IT IS THEY, WHO WALK AMONG US..
The quiet town of Fallencaster lays nestled near the bay, a business sector of Boston, that handles the imports and exports. The constant motion of people swamp the seaside town, bringing new and mysterious people to live alongside the rest of the town's innocent residents. The threat of pirates always looms, but the arrival of these men carry on throughout the day, as they bombard the city with their way of life; infiltrating the local taverns and befriending the locals, only to swindle the very people they manipulate out of the very clothes on their back. But aside from the pirates and the thieves, something else walks walks and blends amongst the people. And some are scarcely unseen by the human eyes, and it is best, they never truly see the truth.
Vampires have come to the new world in search of new land and new followers, a new sense of life and purpose away from the glorious Vampire Council in Europe. It was more than time to distance themselves and form their own rules, their own system, even their own bloodline. It is easy for the vampires to blend within the townspeople, easily masquerading as one of them; the beautiful monsters that they are, keeping to the shadows, to themselves, until the time arrives for them to make an unsuspecting mortal their attentive donor for the night. Aside from vampires, a new breed of human being has emerged, people infected with the lycanthropy strain. Shapeshifters, as they are called, capable of taking on the ability to shapeshift into the creature they are "cursed" with. There are four distinct flavors of shapeshifters in this time: wolves, leopards, rats, and the unique and rare mutated strain that gives one more than a single beast to change into.
Even the vampires and shapeshifters are unsuspectful of the hidden war that lies between the normal society and the preternatural. It is a war of angels versus demons. Angels living amongst people, some guiding certain individuals through life toward certain obstacles or achievements; whilst the demons struggle to break down a person's soul, collect it and distribute it in hell, where the victim goes to serve out eternity. Angels and demons can blend and live together, but not in harmony. And it is in Fallencaster, where the struggle to save the town from d**nation, comes the challenge of keeping the stressful times from plunging the town into total darkness.
These are new beginnings, new faces,
new kinds of magic to light the darkest of nights.
Yet the souls of all that live here are at stake.
Who will survive? Who will fall?

Who will survive? Who will fall?
Come, come and join us, and you shall see.
